New Method to Make PET Bottles from Captured Carbon!

LanzaTech says it has found a way to produce plastic bottles via specially-engineered carbon-eating bacterium. The process, which uses emissions from steel mills or gasified waste biomass before they are released into the atmosphere, directly converts CO2 into mono ethylene glycol, (MEG), a key building block for polyethylene terephthalate, (PET), resin, fibers, and bottles. that will reduce their environmental impact and reduce costs by creating a direct pathway to manufacturing them.

In addition, When added to the PET film, non-migratory, delivers stable, permanent slip performance over time and under high-temperature conditions. Even at a low loading dosage, the masterbatch disperses consistently through the PET material, reducing its coefficient of friction (COF) and modifying the surface quality. It plays an important role in the mold release of PET products and in optimizing the cycle time of producing a consistent surface finish, enhanced sustainability help reduces energy costs…

Advantage:


This masterbatch maintains good wear resistance of silicone, with good thermal stability, and performance-enhancing benefits to preserve material clarity and transparency, as a free-flowing pellet, it is easy to dose due to its physical form and melting point closely matching the base polymer. It can be added directly to PET or to the masterbatch in a conventional dosing system.
